PASSPORT class – Asheville area

It is an ADVOCACY and Education class to provide tools to consumers, friends, and family members in how to make working with service agencies, governmental agencies and medical care providers less frustrating. It will be an interactive class with materials that you can take home and continue using to improve working relationships with agencies and providers!! In July, we will have another Advocacy class taught by Bart, which is always fun and educational!

Medicare Information Classes – Buncombe County

The Council on Aging of Buncombe County announces a series of classes on Medicare to be held at various library locations and UNCA in the coming months.
The purpose of these classes is to inform people who are NEW to Medicare how the program works. Learn what you need to do to enroll, what options are available, ways you can save money and get answers to questions you have regarding the program.
Classes are free and open to the public and are especially beneficial if you:
- are about to enroll in Medicare
- recently enrolled in Medicare
- are a caregiver
- help senior citizens with their Medicare insurance

136th Annual Meeting of AAIDD – American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

The 136th annual meeting of AAIDD will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina at the Westin Charlotte. The conference itself is June 19-20, however there are numerous pre- and post-conference sessions planned. See the overview of the entire program and find registration information here.
